Upon sanction by the Central Government, construction of Jinping-I Hydropower Project was officially commenced.

The company's equity structure altered. After State Development & Investment Corporation acquired the 4% of the company's shares from China Huadian Corporation, the company is now owned by 2 shareholders, namely State Development & Investment Corporation and Sichuan Provincial Investment Group Co., Ltd., with share percentages of 52% and 48% respectively.
